KOTOR II certainly shows signs of being rushed, but that doesn’t stop it from being a very strong product in its own right (and had a fascinating development history it’s a minor miracle Obsidian made something as good and complete as they did). If you can appreciate those two things, I’d say they are must-play titles. Last year, when we discovered the Star Wars Empire at War Remake mod. The sequel goes the extra mile with expanded companion influence. from both KOTOR and KOTOR 2 and spin them into something more like a sequel. Story agency and stat interaction isn’t just thrown on top they’re the core pillars of how the games are designed. You have tons of agency in the storylines, the game reacts strong to all decisions you make, and the stats you choose not only affect your play style but how you can complete quests and progress through the story. They are very few of these games playable on console. KOTOR I, and especially KOTOR II, are examples of what I’d consider “true” RPGs. Was one of my favorites back in the KOTOR days. Most “RPGs” on consoles are just action games with some trivial stats thrown in there. Don't remember the name of the assassins that wear this, but here are screens of what I'm referring to. This mod aims at giving the Mandalorians in Kotor 2 a more lore friendly and unique identity as more of a fallen and fragmented people who have lost their warrior roots. If not, check out some of the hardcore mods. Maybe one of them has affected the difficulty. Try uninstalling the mods and see if that changes things. Whilst I wait on KotoR 2 being a winter sale daily deal (and having lost my original CD (DVD) a long time ago) I thought I'd ask about a difficulty mod: I was familiar with the ruleset having played Neverwinter Nights and found the system didn't snuggly fit KotoR- spending an attribute point to get an extra +1 modifier on strength should be a huge thing but wasn't even noticeable given that.
I just replayed both on mobile over the last month. Hell, the only place I was 'killed' a few times was fighting the Handmaidens on Telos with a LS consular and that's a side-quest that doesn't really affect the game that much.
